Heroine (2012)

"If a heroine buys a car, it’s gifted to her by a businessman, if she goes to LA, she’s getting plastic surgery done and, God forbid, if she goes to Dubai, you people make a rate card for her."

What do you expect of a Madhur Bhandarkar film? Fashion, Page 3 or Chandni Bar... a list of fabulous movies to his credit. But not this time, Heroine is old wine in a new bottle. There is not even a single moment of novelty in the whole movie. Same fake smiles, dirty realities, the lonely depths of failures, unspoken truths, etc. If you have seen Fashion, you could be seen drawing similarities while watching the movie. The movie with this concept seems to be too long and too confusing at times.

This is not one of the best performances of Kareena Kapoor, but she is looking great and has performed stupendously well (not enough to get a National Award). Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda has done justice to their characters along with the other supporting casts like Divya Dutta and Shahana Goswami. Film's music is not as per the expectations too. You at times wonder after watching the movie, has Madhur lost his touch? or Is he over with new ideas?

Finally, film is monotonous and climax is too obvious. If you want to watch for Kareena otherwise I would advice you to give it a miss.
